Private Lessons

CMS offers high quality private instruction in the instruments listed below, as well as provides a solid foundation in music theory. Our teachers are diverse and offer avariety of styles for all students of all ages and abilities.

Private lessons are one-on-one, for a minimum of 30 minutes, with the same teacher, and are scheduled at the same time and on the same day of each week for the semester. New students are welcome to enroll at any time and the semester's tuition will be prorated. Longer lessons are available for more advanced students.

Learning to play an instrument well is a long-term commitment on behalf of both the student and the parent. Time and space must be available in the home for daily practice in addition to the weekly lesson. Music is a physical, as well as mental, experience that takes weeks, months, and years to reach performance levels approaching “perfection,” so do not expect immediate results.

Students are required to have an instrument for daily practice. CMS offers a small inventory of donated instruments that can be rented at reasonable rates or the office can refer the student to a local vendor.

Voice instruction is offered to students age 12 and older. The CMS Kids Chorus is recommended for children ages 6-11 who wish to develop their singing skills.
