Enroll in Private Music Lessons...

When can I start lessons?
Anytime! CMS offers open enrollment throughout the school year and summer.

2017-18 Spring Semester (18 weeks)

2018 Summer Session (10 weeks)
Mon, June 18, 2017 - Thur, August 23, 2018

What ages can enroll? We teach all ages, from young children to mature adults.  While the maturity level varies from child to child, most children age 5 or older have an adequate attention span for a 30-minute lesson. CMS recommends piano or violin for beginners, because these instruments give access to the full range of the musical scale, allowing the student to develop a solid foundation for future musical development.

Does CMS sell instruments or books? CMS has a limited number of books and donated instruments available for rent or purchase.  Students may also rent or purchase an instrument from a reputable dealer.  Please contact the office for recommendations.

How do I pay for lessons? All lessons must be paid in advance prior to the start of each semester or on a monthly auto-pay plan on a credit card.  CMS accepts all major credit cards, checks, or cash.  If necessary, an alternate payment plan may be arranged with approval from the director.

How do I get started?

1. Complete the online New Student Inquiry Form or call 610-435-7725 to discuss your or your child's music education goals. New students may enroll anytime. Click here for details and pricing on private lessons & group classes.  Not sure which instrument to study - click here to view a complete list.

2. Schedule an Interview Lesson… After evaluating the student’s needs, CMS will offer available time slots for an interview lesson with an appropriate teacher. Interview lessons are $33 for a 30-minute lesson. Payment must be made when you schedule the interview lesson, even if you intend to apply for financial aid. CMS accepts cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).

3. Complete the appropriate Student Enrollment Form… Student Enrollment Form (under 18) or Adult Student Enrollment Form (over 18). The completed form can be brought along to the interview lesson.

4. Review and sign the Student Policy Agreement if you have any questions regarding these policies, please discuss them with one of our administrative associates prior to enrolling.

5. Enroll or request another Interview Lesson… After your initial interview lesson, a CMS administrative associate will contact you to ensure the student wishes to continue with that teacher or would like to interview with another. If the student decides to enroll in lessons with that teacher, payment in full (or a payment plan deposit) for the semester and the annual registration fee is due at the time of enrollment; along with the completed enrollment form and signed Student Policy Agreement.
If you choose to interview with another teacher, each 30-minute interview lesson is $33, and payment is due when you schedule the interview lesson.

6. Applying for Financial Aid… Financial aid is available only for students 18 years and under. In keeping with Federal Assistance guidelines, the percentage of tuition assistance awarded to each family is based on income and the number of dependents in the household. Financial aid does not include the initial interview lesson, the annual registration fee, instrument rental/purchase, or instructional book purchases. Please refer to the Financial Aid Application for more details.
